The Mother

Have you ever thought about the personal lives of gangsters or professional killers? What are their family situations? Are they parents? Are they someone’s children? Can they walk around freely?

The movie “Mother” tells the story of a woman who is being pursued by dangerous armed forces, and she is also a mother.

In this review, some spoilers may be included because there aren’t many additional plot twists in this movie.

Jennifer Lopez plays the main character in this film. She is a retired military fighter and was the best at shooting guns. After her retirement, she starts an illegal gun-selling business with her two boyfriends. One day, she discovers that they are also involved in human trafficking, and she decides to betray them. By that time, she is already pregnant.

The movie “Mother” begins from this point, showing us how she gives birth to her child despite being injured with a deep knife cut to her abdomen while the baby is still inside. She gives birth to a baby girl and becomes a mother who has to make difficult decisions to keep her child’s life safe because she can be followed by the enemy at any time and anywhere.

Remotely, she takes care of her child and gathers information about her. After 12 years, the enemy discovers her daughter, and she comes to protect her.

We witness how she protects her child from her enemies, and when her enemies find out about her child, we see how she confronts and defends them. The movie beautifully portrays a mother’s love. The action-packed gunfight scenes in this movie are particularly thrilling and entertaining.

You will love the gunfights in this movie. It has a short runtime, which makes it feel like the movie finishes too quickly. The story-line is straightforward and somewhat predictable, although it does have elements of mystery. However, I don’t think it fully does justice to the mystery genre.
