I had heard so many good things about this movie and received strong recommendations to watch it. At the time, I can’t remember why I missed this movie, but I was planning to watch it in the theater. Recently, I finally watched the movie, even though it has been a long time since its release, and its sequel, Part 2, has also been released.
I didn’t watch Part 2 because I wanted to watch Part 1 first. After watching Part 2, I will share my thoughts here. Interestingly, both parts were recreated from the Malayalam movie of the same name, ‘Drishyam’ and ‘Drishyam 2.’ I haven’t watched the original Malayalam versions either, so that’s a plus point for me to enjoy the movie.
In this movie, Ajay Devgn plays the main character. He loves watching movies and runs a cable network business. He has a wife and two daughters, and they have a happy family.
One day, his daughter is blackmailed by the son of the IG of the Goa Police. She begs him to leave her alone, but the IG’s son refuses, and accidentally, she hits him on the head, causing his immediate death. This event sets off the real thrill of the movie.
The performances of all the actors in this movie were quite good. The focus is primarily on Vijay’s family and the police, with limited characters. The direction and screenplay are also impressive aspects of the movie. It successfully keeps the audience engaged and avoids boredom. While there are several suspenseful moments, some of the twists can be predicted. Overall, the movie is quite good, and I recommend watching it to enjoy the thrilling journey of Vijay and his family.
Sam, the son of the IG of Goa Police, secretly records a video of Anju, Vijay Salgaonkar’s daughter, while she is taking a bath. He uses this video to blackmail her, threatening to release it. Anju tells her mother about this, and they go to meet him, pleading with him to delete the video and leave them alone. However, he refuses and starts harassing her mother. Anju grabs a rod and tries to break his phone, but he instinctively raises his hand, and she accidentally hits him on the head, causing his immediate death.
Afterward, they bury the dead body and tell Vijay everything. Then, we see how Vijay handles the case, hides everything from the police, and protects his family. Despite having only a fourth-grade education, Vijay handles everything with meticulous planning and uses his experiences from watching movies. He even trains his family for every situation, as well as the characters who are important for his fictional story. In fact, he fabricates an alibi for the days the incidents took place. The movie is very thrilling and suspenseful, and we can’t predict how he executed his well-planned strategies and when they took place, even though we know all the incidents from the beginning.
My Recommendation : YES ! You will enjoy the show.
