From director Zack Snyder (“Man of Steel”) comes “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” starring Oscar winner Ben Affleck (“Argo”) as Batman/Bruce Wayne and Henry Cavill (“Man of Steel,” “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.”) as Superman/Clark Kent in the characters’ first big-screen pairing.

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

Directed by Zack Snyder, the film also stars Oscar nominees Amy Adams (“American Hustle,” “Man of Steel”) as Lois Lane, Jesse Eisenberg (“The Social Network”) as Lex Luthor, Diane Lane (“Unfaithful,” “Man of Steel”) as Martha Kent, and Laurence Fishburne (“What’s Love Got to Do with It,” “Man of Steel”) as Perry White; Oscar winners Jeremy Irons (“Reversal of Fortune”) as Alfred, and Holly Hunter (“The Piano”) as Senator Finch; and Gal Gadot (the “Fast and Furious” films) as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince.

Snyder directed from a screenplay written by Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer, based on characters from DC Comics, including Batman, created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger, and Superman, created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. The film is produced by Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder, with Wesley Coller, Geoff Johns and David S. Goyer serving as executive producers.

Snyder’s behind-the-scenes creative team includes director of photography Larry Fong (“300,” “Watchmen”) and production designer Patrick Tatopoulos (“300: Rise of an Empire”), and from his “Man of Steel” team, editor David Brenner, costume designer Michael Wilkinson and visual effects supervisor John “DJ” DesJardin. The music is by Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer (“The Lion King,” “Man of Steel”) and Junkie XL (“Mad Max: Fury Road”).

Personally, it was my first-ever 3D movie experience in the theater. Before this movie, I had never watched a 3D movie. I just stumbled upon a showing in 3D featuring well-known superheroes. I got a ticket and entered the theater to watch the movie, seeing Batman and Superman in the poster and in 3D. I was completely unaware of the DCEU (DC Extended Universe) at that time. I felt a bit confused by Superman and somewhat unfamiliar with Wonder Woman as well. After the show, I researched about the DCEU and discovered that it was the second movie in the DC Universe, with the first being ‘Man of Steel.’ I searched for that movie and finally understood the whole story.

This movie tells us about the origin of Batman, how he became Batman, and the duration of his crime-fighting career. It also explores how Bruce Wayne lost his parents. I distinctly remember the scene where a bullet was fired and Martha’s pearl necklace dropping. These scenes were particularly interesting, and I believe the 3D experience enhanced my enjoyment.

Lex Luthor, played by Jesse Eisenberg, is the main villain of the movie. I noticed a resemblance to SRK’s (Shah Rukh Khan) tone in his dialogue delivery, although I know Eisenberg’s tone is not usually like this in other movies. Luthor is a wealthy young man whose parents have passed away. He operates LexCorp, a company involved in weapons research and development. Luthor orchestrates a plan to tarnish Superman’s image in the eyes of the public and sets up the fight between Batman and Superman.

Superman and Batman don’t initially recognize each other’s true identities. Batman believes Superman is responsible for the attack by the Kryptonians on Earth and the resulting loss of many lives. Superman, on the other hand, sees Batman as a vigilante who acts outside the boundaries of the law.

To fully understand this sequence and get to know Superman, you need to watch the movie ‘Man of Steel.’ In this movie, we also get to see Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman, portrayed by Gal Gadot, is perfectly cast for the role. We witness her incredible action scenes during the climactic battle with the Kryptonian creature created by Lex Luthor using the Kryptonian ship and the dead body of General Zod.

Director Zack Snyder aimed to establish a cinematic universe, and he was somewhat successful with this second movie. He teases us with glimpses of the Flash and Cyborg, hinting at their appearance in future films.

Some people have criticized this movie for the scene where Superman and Batman stop fighting. In this scene, Superman says ‘save Martha,’ which prompts Batman to spare Superman and throw away the kryptonite spear. This is because both Batman and Superman’s mothers are named Martha. This scene may have seemed a bit contrived to some, but it served to highlight their common ground.

My Recommendation : YES ! You will enjoy the Movie.
